Collection: Cubism, aesthetics of everyday life

The term "Cubism" was used to describe a multiplicity of points of view introduced by Braque and Picasso, then two young artists from Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. By dismantling the traditional linear perspective, they pushed the spectator to reconstruct the subject, as if it were a broken mirror. The subjects are often borrowed from everyday life.

Although the term suggests a purely geometric rigor, the effect produced is not rational, as Picasso himself explained. It is more like a perfume whose smell is everywhere, without it being possible to specify where it comes from.

It is for this "interplay" between surface and volume that Bodjaro has chosen to propose Cubist-inspired Paintings, offering a rendering that is both unstable and moving.
